No, I grow all the forms of laxa. These are typical florist types except with much larger flowers in clear bright colors. Joe

Good Morning Joseph,

The correct name is Freesia laxa.

Formerly also (/Anomatheca laxa/, /Anomatheca cruenta/, /Lapeirousia laxa/).

Was at Lowe's today and they had one gallon cans of Freesia lactea. Were truly beautiful pots of red and yellow. All were 50% off so couldn't resist. I cannot find anything in PBS about this species lactea. Is this just a made up name? Going on the internet I find many nurseries offering the same species. Of course it is a hybrid. Might anyone be able to enlighten me on this? Thanks, Joe, Oceanside, CA.
