Another writer mentioned lifetime memberships burdening other organizations. I think lifetime memberships are a serious financial mistake and should not be offered. They're never priced properly - always dramatically, dangerously low. Nobody hires actuaries to figure out what they should really cost because it's complicated and actuaries are expensive. Nobody hires financial planners to invest the money to yield the necessary income because planners are expensive and success not guaranteed.
