unknown bulb

A couple of days ago I dug up aHydrangea. Today I looked there and this
bulb was sitting on the surface. I have no idea what it could be, as it
doesn't look like anything I have. The white tip is quite a solid
looking tip. It measures 1 inch across, just over an inch from tip to
base. Does it look familiar to anyone?
