Labelling seeds Was: sowing Moraea seeds
Bulborum Botanicum (Sat, 26 Nov 2011 10:29:10 PST)

As soon as a seed is in the computer they get an unique number
for example 11-103 = collected in 2011 number 103
11-103-121 = seedlings from 11-103 seeded in 2012 pot number 1

an easy system
and as soon as a plant has a number
you also put a little label with just the number under the soil

special if you go to a plant-show
every idiot takes out the label

they like to put it back in an other pot
so the security label is a good help

Great ideas, Roland. Thank you for the suggestions. Now if I can
eliminate those labels that go missing.

When I make a label I note the name ,date and the supplier with a pencil
when it germinate I write an other date
and place the pot on an other place
same for as it flowers
lots of information on one label
and when I have time during re-potting I put all in the computer
