It is quite interesting to note that what we now know as the Peloponnese, with its wonderful bulbous flora, was formerly known as The Morea. Here is a snippet from Wikipedia, where there is plenty more... "The Morea (Greek: Μωρέας or Μωριάς, French: Morée, Italian: Morea, Turkish: Mora) was the name of the Peloponnese peninsula in southern Greece during the Middle Ages and the early modern period. It also referred to a Byzantine province in the region, known as the Despotate of Morea." John Grimshaw Visit John Grimshaw's Garden Diary http://johngrimshawsgardendiary.blogspot.com/ Dr. John M.
