Dennis: In their natural state, the summer rains end quite abruptly between October 15th and November 15th. It's almost as if someone turned off the faucet because they end practically from one day to the next. There is nothing wrong with keeping your seedlings growing except that you risk getting the plant off-cycle if you aren't careful with the watering. It would be best for you to stop watering them all together and let them enter dormancy. You might think about adding a little water to the pot once a month or so until spring so that the potting mix doesn't completely dry out. Good luck. So how do I bring myself to force these guys into dormancy when they are so quite happily growing again on my windowsill? Tough love?
