Ditylenchus dipsaci is one of the most widespread harmful nematodes, hosts are bulbous plants, garlic, onion, cereals, potatoe, carrot, etc... It is not a new threat, in Europe it is well known. It is most likely that this pest have been in the soil of the garlic fields or in the propagating material, and because they replanted the bulbs to the same place from year to year it has became an epidemy.
