There is an easier way to see if you have praecox or africanus
A. praecox has leaves in the winter
A. africanus is leave less in the winter
leaves from A. praecox are twice as wide as A. africanus

The problem is that the Dutch trade sells vast quantities of Agapanthus
praecox in blue and white as A. africanus, with the consequence that the
identities are thoroughly confused. If it's growing easily it isn't
Agapanthus africanus!
