When I had my nursery I would tell people who had problems bringing their proteas into flower to stress them with less water and a moderate pruning. I've seen it work in other plants as well. Sometimes it takes a period of stress and then a good soak. It is worth experimenting with when you have a specimen that has come of age but refuses to flower. Randy
