Zephranthes seed germination

Hello Kathleen

If you floated them, I leave them in the water until they have a green
shoot about 1inch long (2.5cms). They seem quite happy that way, and
are much easier to handle.

I was startled to see that the fresh Zephyranthes seed from a recent seed offering, thanks to Ina, have already germinated indoors. What a nice surprise, coming on a snowy day here. Now I get to go out in the snow to the garden shed, assemble a pot of soil, let it warm up for a while, and plant the seeds. Air temperatures outside are hovering around 33 F, so the snow is barely sticking here near sea level. With a bit of luck, there will be nothing to shovel later.

Cheers,
Kathleen
