Randy, Then that's another difference between our areas. Fresh Lachenalia seed, self sown, germinates here in September, just a few weeks after water is applied, inadvertantly in this case. The seedlings come up like weeds, as I've lamented here before. For the seed I've received comes South Africa (several times) it takes three months to germinate. I've no reason to doubt the freshness of the seed imported but perhaps the half-year offset is the problem. Instead of being started in March-April in South Africa it is being started in September-October in California. Andrew
