Hi
Can anyone tell me whether Ipheion uniflorum is edible?
Thanks

Yes the rain was wonderful. Here we got 1.23 inches of rain last night,
according to a weather station on my block. It had not rained since
December 12th and I only had 1/4 of one rain barrel remaining. This morning
all the Narcissus were weighted down with heavy drops but soon dried in a
brisk wind all day.

The first daffodil of 2012 opened this past week:

Until this week there were only 1 or 2 Ipheion uniflorum open at a time
but now more are open, and the more-blue ones started:

Lots of Narcissus tazetta still

Leucojum are at their peak:

Also lots of blue Freesia laxa, this one last week was odd, with 6
blotches instead of the normal 3:

Are they really blue? More of a light lilac, compared to "blue tape" on
this ruler:

I have not figured out those F. laxa's seasonality. One pot of them went
dormant already (those corms are packed and ready to mail to Dell). Others
are just now sprouting.

The Nerine bowdenii are near peak in bloom:

about a month or two later than in past years, and fewer blooms. Perhaps
it was because our summer was so cool.

The rain is welcome but also the clouds and wind because that means some
frost-free nights. My garden is not well set up for frost protection. So
much to learn!

in Santa Barbara, supposedly Sunset zone 24 but down below 28 F some early
mornings. Maybe a USDA 9b or 10a.
