Hi John: Although I do not garden in your Hemisphere, our year round rains produce results that are a little into collision with the book. As Mary Sue, I always waited for the cooler autumn weather to sow seed, but seed scattered around from my own plants start germinating during summer weather that is still really warm. Here autumn starts on March 21st, of course, but seedlings of a number of Cape species are already out by then. The same with many other species as dormant bulbs by the same time. Since the longer the season UNDER CONGENIAL CONDITIONS the bigger the bulbs and corms obtained at the end of it. Perhaps this all mean than once a certain baking is over the seeds and bulbs are ready to sprout even if teh calendar says otherwise. Conditions here are equivalent to zone 9 in winter and 10 in summer. All the best Alberto Argentina _________________________________________________________________ Latinos en EE.UU: noticias y artÃculos de interés para ti http://latino.msn.com/noticias/latinoseneeuu/
