Cynthia, I hope it is not thought to be ungracious to point this out to a resident of Texas, but technically Texas was still part of Mexico at the dates given by John Bryan for the introduction of Habranthus robustus, H. gracilifolius, H. tubispathus, H, versicolor, and Tulbaghia capensis. Texas was independent by 1836, so H. concolor and T. violacea just make it in by the skin of their bulbs. So if the work of your garden historian pertains to Texas, those are some things to think about - even if John's dates are for the introduction of those plants into American horticulture.
