Jim, Where do the intersectionals or Itoh hybrids come into the picture. I have forgotten what they are a cross of. I will be placing an order with Rick on a wide selection of more varieties for OH but I also will be getting about 10 to try here in LA. The old Saunders and Daphnis hybrids are tempting but I really don't know how they would do here. Any thoughts? I of course want to try ostii and rockii. Both are gorgeous flowers. How big are the flowers? Not that it really matters. I also second your choice of books. Al Rogers book is really nice and in depth. It is actually listed on sale on Amazon at the moment for $16.97 for the paperbak version when it is released. I just looked. The release date is the middle of August. Al also has emailed me several times when I had certain peony questions and was always ready to help with info as are Jim W and Rick Rogers (Al's son, right?). Another nice book is "The Book of Tree Peonies" by Gian Lupo Osti, List Price of $45.00. He has a lot of the rockii and ostii types listed. In case you haven't figured it out, ostii was named after him. Jim's book is listed also for $23.77. ===== John Ingram in L.A., CA. http://www.floralarchitecture.com/ check it out Floralartistry2000@yahoo.com 310.709.1613 (cell, west coast time, please call accordingly.
