For further reading about oca and a few other tubers, Lost Crops of the Incas is on-line: http://books.nap.edu/books/030904264X/… Some of us in CRFG (California Rare Fruit Growers) have been growing it for several years. No one I know particularly likes to eat it, though. It shows up in bins in the potato section of our best produce store in Oakland (Berkeley Bowl) as red potatos at around $4# in the fall. There isn't the lovely variety that Frieda's has, though. Now mashua(tropaeolum tuberosum) is a different story, delicious. Liz
