Re clones, surely our apple clones, Cox's
Orange Pippin, as an example, is still the same today as many years ago?
The same with all other fruit clones that have been around, some for
well over 100 years. Why have they not changed?
If you look at a fruit tree catalogue, you will see that there are
changes. A bud may sport, is propagated, and then you end up with
something like "Scarlet Cox". I don't think Cox has done this, but
lots of other apples have.
