Crinum

Debra,
Crinums are in the amaryllis family, Amaryllidaceae. They are most closely
related to other African amaryllids like Brunsvigia, Amaryllis, and Nerine.
Take a look at: http://www.shieldsgardens.com/amaryllids/tree.html for a
phylogenetic tree based on DNA data. The work is from Kew and other
laboratories around the world.

Thanks! I checked out Plants Delight and they have some and will take your
advice on what to avoid. I never think of eBay for plant material
auctions. Is there another auction place that specializes in plants that I
don't know about? My next step will be to investigate something about where
they fit into the plant kingdom.

Only I have none of these lovelies and haven't the faintest where to get
some.
Dear Debra and all;
Sources must include Tony Avent (plant Delights Nursery) and
Jay lead me to eBay (search for "Crinum" brought up 32 auctions
including a antique Crinum print). (Avoid Ty Ty/ Mary Washington
Nursery in GA). Must be some others.
Best Jim W.
