They seem to do well enough and produce many small tubers but under my conditions they don't seem to get big enough to worry about eating. There are several types available here, in NZ, with either red, orange or yellow tubers. The cultivated forms apparently do not produce flowers and the hairy foliage on all types seem the same to me.
