Hippeastrum x-johnsonii fertility?

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how fertile Hippeastrum x-johnsonii is? I have a bulb
of it with a scape about to open. Nothing else is open, so I'll have to
use frozen pollen on it. Eventually I want to try an offset from it
outdoors in the ground in a very protected spot.

Any guess on whether diploid or tetraploid pollen would be more likely to
set on x-johnsonii?

Any advice will be appreciated!
