Dear all; Thanks for the input on possible hardiness. Jim S's trial is worth repeating. I tried M. polystachyea near the foundation -south facing and somewhat dry in winter with no survival of mature bulbs. Paul, I'd be glad to try a few seeds and nurse them in a cool greenhouse for a year or two before testing some outside. I hear it gets to almost 4 ft! in the Kew. Thanks for all the input.
