In my new yard in Appalachia, I have whitetailed deer and groundhogs. The deer should be foiled by my expensive new fence, but groundhogs are another story. I seem to have driven away the one who had taken up residence under my shed. I stuffed broken glass and spoiled sauerkraut into its foyer, and I haven't seen it since. At my last residence, I had a groundhog problem, but then we had floods, and this seemed to reduce the pest population. Dell, in Salem, WV, USA
