Sunny, well drained, they are frugal as other bulbs with regard to rain.
In our hemisphere it flowers in April, the flowers are huge.
They respond well to good soils but of course manure can not be used on them.
In summer when they are dormant hey must be dry on the dryish side.
Better not to disturb the corms unless necessary for dividing and replanting.
Corms are very sensitive to wounds.
Ants devour the foliage.
