Hi Dee, The pattern does look strange for virus, but you can't exclude that. Seeds should come through clean, but just in case, soak them in 10% bleach + a drop of dish soap for 5 minutes. That should get rid of any virus particles on the surface. Peter suggested nutrient deficiency, which seems likely. Aspirin in water can sometimes help mask the symptoms of virused plants. Aspirin is made from salicylic acid, which is an important compound known to ramp up the plant immune system. It's sort of like humans taking vitamin C during a cold.
