Hi All, Well I did manage to make a trip back to that spot today. Much to my disappointment I am two or three days too late to find them in bloom. All that was left was a mass of stems. If I were to guess a number it would be well over 500 most likely more. All packed in an area less than 3 yards/meters around. I took a small panorama of the stems but there was only about 10 blooms in the entire patch. To see that patch at it's height would have been a glorious wonder to behold. I got me a couple of bulbs but I am going to try and go back in time to harvest some seed.
