Eirc Block's book on Allium

Has anyone read Eric Block’s Garlic and Other Alliums? I heard him
interviewed on the radio today and it sound interesting. He’s a chemist, not
a botanist. The book is expensive (about $70). It has a nice photo of a hard
neck garlic doing the ophioscorodon thing on the cover.
