From Jim Shields: (SEEDS) 1. Hymenocallis eucharidifolia – very few. 2. Hippeastrum mandonii -- getting old but still should have ca 50% germination. 3. Haemanthus montanus -- probably the most cold-tolerant species of Haemanthus. White flowers in June (Northern Hemisphere) 4. Haemanthus humilis hirsutus (white) probably x H. montanus (open pollinated in June) 5. Crinum variabile -- hardy outdoors in the ground in Indiana, once bulbs get to be about 2 inches in diameter. Flowers open pure white, turn pink as they age. Everyone should grow Crinum variabile! From David Ehrlich: 6. Bulbs of Scilla peruviana SEEDS: 7. Freesia laxa (red on red): the parent plants were grown from seed from Alberto Castillo in BX 179 8. Moraea pendula: the parent plant was from Annie’s Annuals. 9. Scilla peruviana: My plants produced much seed in previous years, but this year they were far too crowded to prosper, so I have only a few seeds. 10. Albuca aurea: parent plant was from Annie’s Annuals. It bloomed this season, but produced very little seed. 11. Cypella herbertii: The seeds for the parent plants came from Alberto Castillo. They grow very well, and produce a great deal of seed. From Alberto Castillo: 12. ADULT bulbs of a miniature Ornithogalum species, fine foliage growing in tufts, clumping, evergreen, but definitely a winter grower. Flowers are white, minute and produced in profusion in spring. It was originally distributed as seed in an early PBS BX. Has been a charming undemanding species in full sun and gritty soil. It does not key out to any of the species in the monograph. Frost free conditions. From John Ingram: 13. Tubers of Sinningia selovii, from open pollinated parents. Are likely to be of a variety of shades of color. From Bob Hoel: 14. Near blooming-size bulbs of Hippeastrum papilio ($5.00 each) 15. Good sized (2 - 4 cm dia) offsets of Hippeastrum papilio (the usual $2.00 per share depending on supply/demand) Thank you, Jim, David, Alberto, John, and Bob !! Best wishes, Dell Dell Sherk, PBS BX
