We've germinated seed at the Theodore Payne Foundation on a few
occasions, but haven't had much luck getting the bulb to live long enough
to survive. I've heard from others who specialize in California native
plant propagation that keeping the bulbs alive is the hard part. We have
a first-year batch coming along at the moment. I'll be trying a different
soil mix this year....mostly sand in a really deep pot. I'm hoping that a
pot culture more closely matched to a wild state will do the trick.
