So my question(s): Is it possible to split agave or manfreda much like you
split some bulbs for propagation purposes? > Phil Andrews

I don't have any experience with Mangave, but--

When I have lost the crown in a plant and two or more leaders come from that, I cover the bases of the shoots with soil or potting mix to encourage each to develop seperate root masses. If they do form new roots, the two pieces can be removed from the main plant and potted up which can be left to resprout.

Sometimes wounding the bases of the shoots, as in layering, can help .
