Well I think the worst is over for now. My garden here in the Inland Empire, Southern Ca. has been enduring 23 degree nights for a week now. I had been out of town so my collection got the unprotected brunt of the freeze. Surprisingly my SA bulbs did quite well all sitting out on the patio.Even a young Worsleya seems fine! But sometimes damage appears days later. My biggest surprise was a stand of Chasmanthe bicolor that bloomed right through. Other plants haven't fared so well. Zamia, brown, Some cymbidiums, Citrus hit hard. Talking to the old timers here they all say this happens every ten years or so. Most of the record lows were recorded in the 1930's ( as well as some of record highs). So I guess this is pretty normal type of weather. Atten: Al Gore!!
