Interesting! Maybe I'll try that. Until now, I had considered M. multiflora to be the hardiest, which indeed overwinters outside unprotected for me (zone 7ish), though only from one of my two seed sources - maybe there are individual differences? I guess it's a little late now to try another longiflora and have it established this year? I'll go and count my seeds ;-) Martin Am 24.06.2018 um 20:25 schrieb Frank via pbs: > If the seed sowing goes well you may want to consider leaving a few outside. For at least the last five years mirabilis longiflora has overwintered on a sloped yet poorly draining(heavy loam) spot in the open garden. Winter lows here have been down to -10F, which appears to be too cold for the nearby Musa basjoo(which had been protected), yet I see Mirabilis sprouts up and growing. > Frank, NEPa zone 6a-ish > https://katob427.com/ > _______________________________________________ > pbs mailing list > pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net > http://lists.pacificbulbsociety.net/cgi-bin/… -- Martin ---------------------------------------------- Southern Germany Likely zone 7a _______________________________________________ pbs mailing list pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net http://lists.pacificbulbsociety.net/cgi-bin/…
