Mirabilis longiflora

Interesting! Maybe I'll try that. Until now, I had considered M. 
multiflora to be the hardiest, which indeed overwinters outside 
unprotected for me (zone 7ish), though only from one of my two seed 
sources - maybe there are individual differences?
I guess it's a little late now to try another longiflora and have it 
established this year? I'll go and count my seeds ;-)

Winter lows here have been down to -10F, which appears to be too cold for the nearby Musa basjoo(which had been protected), yet I see Mirabilis sprouts up and growing.
