A catalog arrived yesterday listing what are called Fritillaria imperialis Rascal Series. Three varieties are listed: Chopin, Brahms and Vivaldi. They are described as shorter and earlier blooming than the usual Fritillaria imperialis cultivars. I remember reading a few years ago about hybrids between Fritillaria imperialis and F. raddeana which were in the production pipeline. Shorter and earlier is what I would expect from such a cross. Are these they?
