When I was in Lesotho in winter 2007-8, I collected a lot of seed from a fairly-high-altitude population of Z. albomaculata. The highest-altitude plants we saw were all, unfortunately, "immaculata" - and without the spots, it's a pretty plain thing (the spots, BTW, are actually little "windows", not white spots). I've planted a number of the resulting crop out in my gardens, and plan to get a lot more out there, the hope being that I will have turned up a population of reliably cold-hardy plants. Time will tell. Ellen Seneca Hill Perennials 3712 Co. Rt. 57 Oswego NY 13126 Phone: 315-342-5915 Fax: 315-342-5573 http://www.senecahillperennials.com/
