Trying to grow Zantedeschia aethiopica by "glad culture" can be done, but the results are not very good. My Z. aethiopica plants do better grown in the greenhouse over winter and outdoors in the lath house under misting in summer. They flourish in the greenhouse in winter, then the foliage takes a beating when they go outdoors into the wind and weather in late spring. They gradually recover during the summer, and may even bloom in summer. Hybrids and selected forms of aethiopica are all slightly different in their response to culture, in my experience.
