I decided that I was going to plant some Oxalis in pipes, as they offer a deep "pot" without the cumbersome diameter issues that arise as you use bigger pots. The tree pots discussed earlier made my mouth water, but it's not worth importing two or three for an experiment. My main reason for wanting to use deeper pots was so that some Oxalis that place their bulbs really deep before they flower, could do so. This is true for many of the species in the subsection Crassulae, which includes species such as O. flava and O. fabaefolia. But this year my Oxalis salteri surprised me by flowered from very immature bulbs that cannot be much deeper than 10-15 cm., not even close to the 40 - 50 cm. at which they are found in nature. I have uploaded some more pictures of this species here: http://pacificbulbsociety.org/pbswiki/index.php/… Enjoy Christiaan
