Hello James, I grow Gladiolus palustris in pots. Does very well in our climate. Grows in southern Germany in the wild in wet meadows. Needs a good draining soil. I have not tried growing them in my garden. Our winters are mostly cold and very wet. A bad combination for a lot of plants. Bud I assume, a cold and dry winter is no problem. Should be completely hardy under that conditions.
