It should be mentioned that Karrikinolide is an alternate name that
was adopted for 3-methyl-2Hfuro[2,3-c]pyran-2-one
Confirmation of
the structure as the butenolide 3-methyl-2Hfuro[2,3-c]pyran-2-one
was achieved by synthesis.
