Hi, I don't have a predator problem. My small number of saffron corms are in pots in a secure greenhouse. My problem has been why commercially supplied large saffron corms don't flower in their first Autumn. I understand that the corm is replaced each year, so lack of success the second Autumn is my fault. You can see my photo (#4 of row #2) of the relationship of new and old crocus corms on this wiki page: http://pacificbulbsociety.org/pbswiki/index.php/… There is another wiki page with a photo (#1) comparing the leaves of various species: http://pacificbulbsociety.org/pbswiki/index.php/… For me saffron leaves were a lot longer than for other species. -- David Pilling, Blackpool, North West England. http://www.davidpilling.com/
