"Romneya has large underground storage roots so it's obviously a bulb." Romneya is a perennial with a branched, brittle crown and deep-growing, rather slender perennial roots. The stems are also perennial and green and may be leafy through the dry season. There is nothing resembling a bulb in this plant's morphology. It is no more a geophyte than a goldenrod or an oleander. Dylan Hannon *"The greatest service which can be rendered any country is to add an useful plant to its culture..." --**Thomas Jefferson*
