And as for "trash", parts of my garden are only a few levels above what is known locally as "white trash gardening". I just throw in the occasional Cardiocrinum, Helonias or Lilium grayi to disarm the critics - critics who are no doubt shielding their eyes from my magenta peonies while they take in the Cypripedium japonicum or the Welwitschia. You mentioned in an earlier post that you had some tree peony pictures you would be willing to post. I have some of my own. I know it's a bit off topic for this list, so if they are deemed unsuitable for PBS, let's exchange some privately.
