Alocasia, Calocasia, Xanthosoma......With the first hard freeze, it's all

over

Colocasia and Xanthosoma are edible, eat them before they freeze, replenish
from ethnic grocery store in the early spring along with ginger, turmeric and
amorphophallus for that tropicalissimo look with no wintering over necessary.

It's my sincere conviction that gardeners are divided on the one hand into
those who are essentially farmers practicing ....and on the other hand the
sort of romantic ....who can discourse endlessly should the
opportunity arise on axes and borrowed space and the proper culture of
auriculas or the correct placement of pergolas

Polarized personalities may enjoy both constructs with little or no conflict.
