Wiki pictures: scrolling down

I find this a small annoyance when I want to look at all the pictures
in one section of the wiki:

I look at a picture, then click the back button of my browser, and
instead of being returned to the section I am currently at, I am back
up at the top and have to scroll down to click on the next name.
Fortunately the names I've looked at have changed colour, and there
is a frame around the url I've just looked at, so I can see where I
am.

Is this inherent in the wiki, or something I can alter in my browser?
