Hi Josh, I'm sorry to hear about your seedling losses. I have lost some myself lately due to some slugs. Have you observed caterpillars eating the leaves? If not, I think slugs/snails would be the more likely culprit. They do love to munch on seedling leaves. Slugs can be deterred by using the less toxic product Sluggo. Sprinkle the pellets heartily on the surface of your pots.
