Erin:

Thanks for the confirmation that it does happen occasionally. I hope others
will speak up about interspecific hybrids with Z. atamasco

I have not seen Z. atamasco hybrids- although I would love to see more

however here in SW Georgia I have in the past seen sporadic fall blooms some
years among the natives. Not necessarily in the larger stands of Z.
atamasco, more a happy surprise one or two on the side of a road where least
expected. This year has been so painfully dry that I would be shocked to see
any- blooms have been low on even my most dependable summer bulbs.

Bulb Folks:

We had some nice surprises today.more lycoris buds emerging, (L. 'Hill
Beyond Hill'), another xHippeastrelia 'Durga Pradhan' seedling, and
the strangest, a bloom on a clump of Zephyranthes atamasco. As any
good breeder would do, we had our way with it this morning. This
prompts the question.are there any zeph hybrids with Z. atamasco and
the summer flowering species?
