I don't know what percentage of potential buyers lack fast connections in this country, but I'm afraid that for most suppliers the slow connectors are easily written off as a potential market, because there are so many of the other kind, and appealing to the latter (pictures, thorough descriptions, shopping carts, etc) is the name of the game. I know - when I dropped my printed catalog and went to online-only sales from the website, I did much better, even though it meant that a handful of loyal customers got, as it were, disconnected. I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings, but the benefit to the seller of making full use of the Internet's capacities (and the people who can access those) FAR outweighs any sales lost to the small market of people with slow connections.
