I've been growing two plants of Doryanthes excelsa in very large pots in my conservatory for some years, and one has flowered a couple of times, though by no means at the height it attains in its native land. When I was in Australia, someone told me it was hardy in Tasmania, which made me think I might plant one of them outdoors here, but I see from the wiki description that they're native to a much warmer area. Does anyone have experience growing this species in an area that experiences frost? Jane McGary Northwestern Oregon, USA
