Lee- Your photo looks a lot like H. papillio with most of the maroon missing. The early blooming time is also characteristic. Mine are blooming right now but the rest of the hippeastrum's buds have barely started to emerge. These Japanese hybrids are very interesting. Do you think there is any chance of doing a group order from Japan. I might be willing to coordinate it.
