> I wonder if there is a >component that causes a reaction in a home atmosphere? When I buy ripe strawberries and put them in the car, they smell wonderful. If I then leave them in the car while I do more shopping, the car smells like garbage when I enter it again. In perhaps ten minutes, the delicious strawberry smell has concentrated itself enough to be disgusting. The strawberries themselves haven't changed, and when I take them into the house, they again smell delicious. Obviously, some component of their scent is pleasant only when dilute. -- Diane Whitehead Victoria, British Columbia, Canada maritime zone 8 cool mediterranean climate (dry summer, rainy winter - 68 cm annually) sandy soil
