How hardy is Tecophilea?

All my pots are plunged in sand (on all sides) to reduce the temp swings

Three collections of Scilla lingulata and some Tecophilea died at at around
0 F, (minus 18 C) in pots here. Certainly both can take freezing conditions
to around minus 8 C in pots. Possiably other climates might make them take
lower temperatures. Planting them in the ground would.

Tecophilea grow in my cold frame right next to the Scilla lingulata
Soil in frame freezes in winter
But protected a bit by 4mil poly layer so soil warms on sunny days

I just never thought Tecophilea might survive this far north. Just

how hardy are they? How cold have they survived outdoors for any members?
