Right now they have small new shoots emerging. I concur with Peter; the only time of year when I've been able to transplant them successfully is October. Even then they readily succumb to root rot, so it's best to soak them in a fungicide solution before you plant. In my experience, once transplanted they are incredibly tough, but they hate being transplanted. Mike San Jose, CA
